How it works
Six simple steps is all it takes to stop counterfeit and pursue recovery. Edwin James IP manages the work for you.
- Kickoff and scope
We confirm your goals and eligibility. There is no up front payment, and we only proceed when a case looks strong. - Evidence and authorship
You share proof of authorship such as original files, creation dates, or links to your shop. We guide exactly what is needed. - Copyright check and support
Your work is protected when created, but registration strengthens enforceability. If you are not registered, we can guide that step before legal action. - Building and filing the case
Our partnered attorneys handle filings and negotiations. In most cases you will not need to appear in court, and filings are typically in the company or attorney name. You do not need to hire your own lawyer. - Targets and enforcement
We focus on large marketplaces where counterfeiting is common and legal leverage is effective, primarily Amazon and Walmart. - Resolution and payout
If damages are recovered, our fee is paid from the recovery. If damages are not recovered, you owe nothing.
What we ask from you
- A short kickoff call and quick responses to questions
- Best quality originals, screenshots, dates, and helpful links
- You approve key steps, then we run the process for you
Artist time: about 6 hours total across a 9 to 12 month process, based on the specifics of your case.
What you keep and what we handle
- You keep ownership of your copyright. We only need temporary permission to act on your behalf. You can keep selling or licensing your work.
- We handle legal work end to end. Partnered attorneys manage filings and negotiations. You typically do not need to attend court.
Where we focus and why
We concentrate on marketplaces where counterfeits are widespread and court action is effective, especially Amazon and Walmart.
Results and fees
- No hidden fees and no out of pocket costs for artists.

What not to do first
It is tempting to send a quick DMCA takedown, but removing listings too soon can erase proof and reduce legal options. Our public guidance explains why it is often smarter to let the team capture evidence before takedowns, especially if your case may qualify for legal action.
Timelines at a glance
- Artist time. About 6 hours total
- Case timeline. Often 9 to 12 months, case by case
- Court presence. Usually not required from you
